Holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. Engg – 1962) from Aligarh Muslim University,   is a highly experienced  power professional having wide experience of more than Fifty five  (55) years in Project Management, Planning, Implementation and  Operations  of hydro-electric power projects including  EHV Transmission  and system coordination;

Has served both public and private sectors (Dept. Of Irrigation & Power, UP; TSL, BHEL, Jayprakash Hydropower Ltd);

Has made significant contribution toward setting up of various prestigious hydroelectric power projects    in India and abroad totaling more than 3500 MW; Major mile stones include hydro projects namely, Karcham Wangtoo (1000MW), Baspa (300 MW), Chukha- Bhutan (360 MW), Pong (360 MW), Sungaipiah, Malaysia (15 MW Upper and 56 MW Lower scheme), and 400 kV D/C Baspa-Nathpa Jhakhdi Transmission lines,   where he has shouldered   the most challenging field-based responsibilities as overall in-charge.

As Head, Hydro Services, BHEL, has overseen the implementation of a number of hydroelectric projects in county and abroad;

He enjoys the unique pride of being associated with the setting up of the first major hydroelectric projects-BASPA (300MW) & Karcham Wangtoo (1000 MW), in private sector in the country, in a record time. These projects have earned National Awards several times for excellence in performance

He is credited with more than a decade’s experience in commercial operations including export, holding Sr. level positions in BHEL.

Foreign Visits: Beside the country wide exposure, he has undertaken business visits to various countries namely, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, U.K., Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal and Bhutan.
